Hey Fabulous Fatima Families,
On the holidays students were asked to pick up 3 pieces of rubbish at the beach to help our coastal environment and keep our bay clean. We now have 5 baby dolphins swimming with Violet's pod so less rubbish will help to keep them healthy.
Lots of students reported picking up rubbish, however, to enter the competition for a Violet money box and sticker you also have to send a photo to Mrs. Heggen. This week's winner is Chloe. She went above and beyond three bits of rubbish.
Violet and her dolphin friends thank Chloe and all of the other students who helped to keep our bay beautiful. We are a great sustainable community. Well done Fatima families!
We are reducing food waste and green-house gases by being clever with left-over food.
Please share your recipes and ideas in our newsletter by emailing them to me at aheggen@fatimarosebud.catholic.edu.au
First up is Mrs. Millar's Red Hill Show award winning banana cake.
BANANA CAKE
Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced). Grease a 15cm x 25cm loaf pan; line base with baking paper.
Beat butter and sugar in small bowl with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, until combined. Transfer mixture to large bowl; using wooden spoon, stir in sifted dry ingredients, lemon rind, banana, sour cream and milk. Spread mixture into pan
Bake cake about 50 minutes. Stand cake 5 minutes before turning, top-side up, onto wire rack to cool. Top with Lemon butter icing.
Yum, yum indeed! What a great way to use up those soft bananas.
