Hi St. John's Families!
Â
Hope you are having a wonderful week & a fresh start to the term!Â
Â
If you have noticed from Monday the Prep - 2 & 3-6 playground bubbles are no longer taking place! đ Which means during snack and lunch children will be able to go from yard to yard.Â
Â
During snack time there will be some new activity clubs. On Tuesday there will be a Lego club in the innovation hub, on Wednesday there will be a choir for 2 - 6 in the music room & Thursday's will be coding also in the innovation hub.
Â
This year a group of students from the 5 & 6 hub have been working on a voluntary project called the Kalbarr project which is run by the group BooksânâBoots. You can find out more about the project here.
Â
Through the Kalbarr project, we will be collecting used (or new) books from our St Johnâs families that are in relatively good condition - no rips or stains. These books will be donated to children and families in remote Aboriginal communities and schools in Queensland and New South Wales.Â
Â
If you are interested in donating, please send in any books to the school. We mostly require picture story books. We will start collecting books from Monday 9th May and conclude by the end of term.Â
Â
We hope the rest of your week will be full of fun & joy!

Â
Thank you to our wonderful Parent Helpers for all your hard work today in providing our children with a Mother's Day shopping experience. Â
Â
Itâs time to celebrate!Â
St. Johnâs Primary School Community is seeking expressions of interest from parents and friends wishing to contribute to the establishment of a Steering Committee to develop a proposal for a Community Twilight Evening in celebration of St. Johnâs Primary Schoolâs Centenary Year.
Â
We would like to bring together a motivated and passionate group of parents/friends and staff with the common goal of developing and creating a vision for a community gathering in Term 4.
Â
Committee members will drive the planning and delivery of a Twilight Evening event. The number of places on the committee will be limited, however the committee members will be seeking suggestions and support from the wider St. Johnâs Community to ensure that it is a memorable celebration event for all.Â
Â
Please email me to provide your expression of interest, including your name and a brief description of the reason for your interest and the skills and knowledge you may bring to the Steering Committee if successful. Â
