NAPLAN

Next week, our Year 3 and Year 5 students will undertake the NAPLAN assessment. They will take part in the Writing, Reading, Conventions of Language and Numeracy assessments from Tuesday the 10th of May until Friday the 13th of May.

All children in Years 3 and 5 will need a fully charged Chromebook and bring in a set of headphones for the testing period.

Please ensure that your child has these. If you have any questions about NAPLAN, please contact Tony Hyde or myself.

Immersion in Learning - Excursions

Over the past week, we have had quite a few excursions. The Year 1 and 2 Community visited Legoland: Lego Discovery Centre to start thinking about designing and building new things. The Prep Community visited Melbourne Zoo to become Wild Explorers and learn about animals and their habitats. The Year 5 and 6 Community visited Scienceworks and took part in the Planetarium session Solar System Odyssey.

Legoland: Lego Discovery Centre

The Year 1 and 2 children reflected on the day they had. Some of their reflections are below.

Last Friday was such an exciting day. We went to Legoland! We went there on a bus. Legoland was at Chadstone. It was in a shopping centre. When we stepped into Legoland I was so excited. We took a photo before we went in. First, we watched a 4D movie. Then we went on a ride called Merlin’s Apprentice.

On Friday we went to Legoland. I saw Lego Mario and Lego Luigi. We had to build a Lego car. We saw a 4D movie. I wondered what the warrior’s name was. I saw a Sonic Lego. We played on the playground and I went on two rides.

Last Friday the 29/4/22 we went on a bus to Legoland. First, we watched a 4D movie. Then we went on a ride. It was so fun. After the ride, we built a Lego car and tested our cars.
