Head of Students News

Mr Peter Serone

2022 Walkathon Launch

Walkathon this year is on Sunday 5 June.

Students received their Walkathon Donation cards today at assembly to be handed to family and friends. The College will again be using a cashless system so that donations to the Parents & Friends Association can be made easily.

Student participation on Sunday 5 June is compulsory. If your son cannot attend, please ensure you contact his Head of House or Year 5-6 Pastoral Leader prior to the Walkathon. A reminder that College activities take precedent over Club activities.

We encourage you to come along and walk with your sons for this special College event.

Mask Wearing

Despite a reminder sent through the College app on Monday, a large number of students are not bringing a mask to school for use during assembly.  Masks are compulsory for weekly College assemblies until advised otherwise.  Please make sure your son has a supply in his bag.

Year 11 RACQ Road Safety Presentation

Last Friday, Year 11 took part in the RACQ Deadly Five road safety presentation. Discussed during the morning was the influence of distractions, speeding, seatbelts, alcohol and fatigue for young drivers and passengers. The RACQ presenter commented on the attentiveness and positive behaviour shown by the Year 11 cohort during the morning. To complement the topic of road safety, later this term (2nd June during the ASH lesson) the RAAP presentation from Queensland Fire services will occur, supporting education on driver awareness.

A reminder to register your son’s vehicle via the student car registration tile on parent lounge when they begin driving to school. This allows us to locate car owners when contacted by neighbours regarding unsatisfactory parking and potential parking fines.

Student Absentees

Thank you to parents/guardians who have managed the transition to recording absences through the Parent Portal.  The new online system has provided the College with more detailed information regarding your son’s absence.  A reminder that if your son is departing the College during the day, they are still required to have their diary signed by their Head of House before departing.

Monitor Payments Available - Mother's Day Stall

The Year 9 business students will be running a Mother's Day Stall at the Mothers Day  Breakfasts this Wednesday to Friday. Please top up your child's Monitor Card so that they can buy you a nice present from the stalls set up by the Year 9 Business students at the back of the gym.
