a word from leadership

Today is National Sorry Day

"We remember and acknowledge the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, which we now know as ‘The Stolen Generations’.

National Sorry Day is a day to acknowledge the strength of Stolen Generations Survivors and reflect on how we can all share in the healing process.

The inaugural National Sorry Day was held on 26 May 1998.

  • Ten years later, former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd made a formal National Apology to Australia’s Stolen Generations which is recognised as an essential first step in the healing process. View the National Apology here." (https://www.health.gov.au/news/national-sorry-day-26-may-2022)

As a school community, we acknowledge the Kaurna people as the traditional owners of this land on which we learn, grow and flourish and we pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging.

Tomorrow begins National Reconciliation Week. In 2021, Connected Schools developed a vision for Reconciliation. Please find the link to the video below. Take time to look, listen and reflect on the words and what it means for us as communities of faith and respect.

Uniform Changeover

As the weather becomes cooler, parents are reminded of our uniform policy.

Please refer to pages 29-31 of the Handbook to find our uniform policy.

During May either the full summer uniform OR full winter uniform is permitted, from June our Stage 3 & 4 students wear the winter uniform.

Please note in the Handbook, that sport shoes are to be predominantly white, black or grey trainers/joggers, with the same colour laces. Sport shoes are not to be worn with the girls summer or winter uniform.

Thank you for supporting this policy in our school.
