Late arrival/Early departure

Students:

If you are late to school, you must sign in via Reception.

AND

If you are leaving early, you must be signed out by a parent/carer at Reception.

Parents/Carers

To ensure late arrivals are approved, please advise the College by phoning Reception on 9459 0222.

If your child needs to leave school early, please sign them out using the Compass Kiosk location in Reception. Should your child be making their own way home early, please phone the College to approve this early departure. Students will NOT be released from the College unless we have received verbal communication from the Parent/Carer. Please note, this does not include a parent approval on Compass. If you have entered the approval via compass but not yet spoken to our office staff, you will need to do so to confirm the early departure.

Every Child Deserves a Healthy Smile

Smile Squad hits the road in Banyule - Macleod College

All children deserve a healthy smile, and the Smile Squad are coming to Macleod College in Term 2 to help make sure this happens for our students!

Smile Squad is the exciting new State Government program that will provide free, high quality dental care to all Victorian public primary and secondary school students. The program is set to improve the oral health of more than 650,000 children, saving families both time and money, and all without having to leave the school grounds. The delivery of the Smile Squad program is being managed by Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV) who are supporting more than 50 community dental agencies across Victoria to implement the program.

Smile Squad dental vans will provide free examinations and treatment including teeth cleaning, fluoride applications, fillings and any other non-cosmetic treatments to make sure our young people have healthy teeth.

The Smile Squad vans are staffed by experienced oral health therapists, dental therapists, dental assistants and dentists. They all have extensive experience treating children and a passion for improving their oral health – for life.

This week, your child will be given a Smile Squad dental pack to bring home. The pack contains a free toothbrush, toothpaste and information about oral hygiene. It also contains a consent form that we ask you to complete and return to school if you would like your child to participate in the program.

Smile Squad will visit Macleod College on the following dates in 2022.

Term 2

Examination Van – 06/06/2022 – 24/06/2022

Annual oral health examination. Includes examination, x-rays when required, oral health and dietary advice, coaching and preventative interventions, including application of fluoride varnish.

Follow-up treatment for students who need it. Includes scale and clean, fissure sealants, root canals, restorations (fillings), extractions and impressions for mouth guards (i.e. all non-cosmetic treatments).
