Primary

Since my last report, quite a lot of progress has been made on our new playground improvements. Each day, works are edging closer to the end product. I would like to commend our students for their patience and understanding as they adapt their games and play activities in the yard to the smaller space they have to play in at the moment.

Our Year 5/6 students had a most enjoyable day at the College Athletics Day at Meadow Glen Athletics Track last Wednesday. The teachers were impressed with the high level of participation amongst our students in the events on offer throughout the day. This certainly contributed to their levels of enjoyment.

On the same day, the Year Prep-4 students enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch cooked for them by some of our dedicated PFA members. The frozen orange quarters were a big hit with the children and served well as a healthy alternative to icy poles.

The Year 4/5/6 students are very excited for their excursion to Parliament House and the Immigration Museum on Tuesday 29 March. This will be a great complement and source of celebration of their Government unit this term. They have been learning about the levels of government, laws and rules, voting and elections over this term.

We have started making some small improvements to our humble little building on the inside of late also. We have painted over the green walls with a new earthy colour which will go with a rich rust brown on the classroom doors. Some new furniture is about to be purchased for a learning breakout space, and the classroom ottomans will get new covers with indigenous fabric designs.

We hope to see lots of visitors at our Open Night on Wednesday 6 April. Please let your neighbours/friends/family/colleagues know if they are looking for a school for their children in 2023 or even later this year.

The staff are also looking forward to meeting with parents and students at the online Parent Teacher Student Conferences online on Tuesday 5 April. You will be able to book your appointment times from Tuesday 29 March, so watch Compass posts for word on these.
