Student Leadership

Student Leadership Team - House Captains

Hello everyone, we are your House Captains for 2022: Bridie Boxall (Carter) Michelle Biju (Ramsay) Ava Fox (Scarff) and Liv Bake (Shepard). We are all year 11 VCE students who are dedicated to our mission to increase student engagement and participation, particularly after a disruptive couple of years. We aim to get a sports lending shed up and running next term, we are running an art contest and partnering with the library more. As House Captains we are not solely focused on sport-based activities but other activities to engage participation from all students at the college. We hope to see students earning house points throughout the year.

(Go Shepherd!!)

This year's swimming carnival was a hit! We had a lot more student participation at the new venue, which included water slides, an incredibly exciting addition! There were way more fun races, including a lilo relay and the classic teacher VS student freestyle relay, with students winning the race - but the teachers coming in very close second. We had some exciting costumes, with the year 12’s making quite the entrance with their Kath and Kim themed costumes, and an army of Bananas in Pyjamas, the year 11’s kept the costume fun rolling with their miniature Mr Crowe clones. In the end, Shepherd smashed the competition, bringing in the big numbers to start the year!

This year's Athletics Carnival took place in Meadowglen Athletics Field. It was packed with fun and excitement on a very beautiful day! Students and teachers had a chance to participate in track and field events such as shot put, discus, javelin, high jump, triple jump and more. Students and teachers dressed up in single or group costumes to earn house points. Some costumes included inflatable bubble people, 80s roller skaters, a pit stop crew, M&M’s, Alvin and the Chipmunks and more. Again, Shepherd obliterated the other houses, getting ahead of the House Cup. The teacher and student relay race was one of the big events of the day, with the students taking home the 1st place ribbon.

We hope to see you involved in our upcoming events and activities!
