Message from Tristan

From our Koorie Counsellor, Tristan West, Year 6 Student

On Thursday 10th of March, I met with all the other Koorie kids at NMPS. We all sat down and chatted with our district Koorie Education Support Officer, Virginia, and talked about some ideas we had about things that we wanted to do and learn.

Some ideas were painting Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander flags somewhere around the school, having a play with some old indigenous games, getting some of the Uni High Koorie students to come over and read with us and also doing a campfire with the Uni High kids as well.

It was a very good experience for me, the Koorie Counsellor, to meet up with all the Koorie kids and see their wonderful faces and ideas.

I look forward to sharing more of our experiences.
