Week 7 in the kitchen we celebrated Holi festival and the beginning of Harmony Week, creating a colourful feast of vegetarian curry, raita and rice. We were lucky to harvest a rainbow assortment of vegetables from the garden including zucchini, green beans, carrots and tomatoes. 

 

Practising our safe knife skills, the carefully chopped vegetables were combined with aromatic spices including cumin seeds, turmeric and garam masala. The kitchen smelt amazing! 

 

To accompany our curry, groups prepared raita by grating cucumber and combining yoghurt and mint from the garden and seasonings. 

 

The final dishes were a feast for the senses, with lots of colourful garnishes.
