Around The Primary

Dear Parents

Welcome back to Term 2 and all the very best for the ten weeks ahead! The students and staff really needed a good rest; however, you will be pleased to know that staff have all returned refreshed, re-energised, excited, and are looking forward to offering many valuable learning opportunities throughout the term.

The students seemed to have had a great break too! We have enjoyed hearing all the holiday stories about picnics, sports, camping trips, catching up with friends, cooking, walks along the beach, bike rides, interesting road trips and more! It is wonderful that they have come back happy and ready to resume the learning journey.

This week students commemorated Anzac Day in their classrooms. This was a special way for our students to remember, honour, pray for and reflect upon the sacrifices made by so many. They spent time in quiet reflection, and discussed the importance of peace, mutual respect, and cooperation in our world.

The easing of restrictions has meant our school activities can resume this term, including the Year 6 Adventure Camp, Sporting events and Assemblies. However, as these changes in restrictions are so recent and the health and well-being of all community members remain our priority, the College has decided that the Mother’s Day Liturgy will be offered an as online celebration next Friday, 6 May at 7.30am. We hope all families can gather in their households and share some special time in prayer and reflection. This Liturgy will also be recorded so families can celebrate on Sunday for Mother’s Day if preferred. Please refer to attachment below.  We will also look for an opportunity later in the year to come together and celebrate at the College.

Kind regards

Bike Shelter Update

During the holidays,  a new Bicycle Shelter at the old bus shelter building has been established.

This covered & locked area has ample racking and a bike repair station.  The current bike racks at the North of Year 7 will remain in situ.

Sports Update

A wet Week 1 has been the perfect way to start our winter sports!  Hopefully, we get some more fine days in the coming weeks.  When we can’t get outside our students are learning about fitness and how their bodies respond to exercise through playing games and completing fitness tests.
