Wantirna Swimming Carnival Results

Our annual college Swimming Carnival was held on Friday 4th March at Aquanation in Ringwood. It was a chance for the student body and staff to come together and enjoy one of two whole school events for the year.

 

We were blessed with very warm weather, which made for a great day of competitive racing. Attendance was at an all time high, with over 380 more students attending than the previous year. Hopefully this continues at the Athletics Carnival in term 3!

 

To encourage student participation throughout the day, any student who competed went into the draw to win a major prize. Congratulations to Adriana Low (7S) for winning the Swimming Carnival’s major raffle.

 

Thank you to all students who participated in an event, particualrly in the main swimming races. Active particiaption is key to making the swimming carnival a success. I would like to recognise the following year level champtions and home group winners for 2016.

  • Eric Lang with a time of 49.24 in the Year 7 50m Breasktroke
  • Connor Winter with a time of 42.99 in the year 8 50m Breasktroke
  • Kai Zhi Lam with a time of 43.62 in the Year 12 50m Breasktroke
  • Amy Hamley with a time of 49.69 in the Year 7 50m Breasktroke
  • Sally Cheng with a time of 50.81 in the Year 8 50m Breasktroke

 

I would like to thank all staff, particualry the officials and Year 11 VCAL students for their assistance during the carnival to ensure a smooth and enjoyable day was had by all. Lastly thank you to the following businesses who donated fantastic prizes for the Carnival.
