Cultural Diversity Week

Cultural Diversity Week -Spanish Students

Spanish students at Wantirna College helped celebrate Cultural Diversity week which took place 12th - 20th March.

Year 8 Spanish students made their own maracas using paper mache.  Maracas are often used in Latin music. Players hold them by their handles, usually in pairs, and shake them. Our students place red beans inside to create the famous rattle sound.

Year 9 and 10 Spanish students made traditional Argentinian sweets called Alfajores. These are typically two round cookies filled with 'dulce de leche', a sweet caramel filling, and dipped in coconut.
