Associate Principal, Operations Report

Staffing
Following the appointment of Mr Alexander Smith as Director of Boarding from the commencement of Term Two, we have moved to complete other appointments pending following the resignations of Mr and Mrs Paul and Alison Churchill.
Mr Tim Cameron, who completed his final teaching practice round here earlier in the year, has accepted appointment to a part-time position. Our acceptance of Mr Cameron for his teaching practicum was based on his subject areas and with a view to considering him as a potential member of staff. He will take the Year 6 Maths component of Mr Churchill's load as well as relieve pressure on one Year 11 Methods class, which has become too large. In addition, Mr Cameron will take Sound and Lighting, a Years 9&10 Pathways unit and he will also replace Mrs Deb Davis with a Year 9 Maths class to allow Mrs Davis to reduce her allotment in Semester Two.
Mrs Susan Bradbeer has accepted appointment to a part-time position to replace Mrs Churchill in Year 8, 9 and 10 English classes. Mrs Bradbeer has filled in here in the past and also assisted with some Professional Learning work with individual teachers in recent times. We identified her several years ago as someone we would like to entice back to the classroom, given her experience at both MLC and Monivae, including as a Head of Department.
In addition, we have made some arrangements to cover Leave in the second half of this year.
Mrs Marg Simkin is taking five weeks of Leave in the second part of Term Three. Ms Elisha Nettleton will increase her load and cover Mrs Simkin for one day for this period and Mrs Dona Hartwich, an experienced Teacher-Librarian, has been appointed on a part-time basis for other days.
In addition, we have advertised through the Chinese Language Teachers' Association for a teacher to replace Mrs Anli Zuo in Term Four, when Mrs Zuo is taking Long Service Leave. We will advise as soon as an appointment is made.
At Myrniong, we have arranged for Mrs Anna Robertson to return (she took Mrs Milich's class in Term One whilst she took Long Service Leave) in Term Three whilst Miss Ieva Hampson is on Long Service Leave. Mrs Roberston will cover some of Miss Hampson's classroom involvements and also relieve Mrs Milich for part of each week, allowing her to Act as Head of the Junior Campus in Miss Hampson's absence.
