F-2 GYMNASTICS CLINICS

Last week, students in Foundation and Year 1/2 balanced, jumped, sprung, rolled, turned, cartwheeled and landed from trampolines in our gymnastics clinics. It was certainly an actioned packed, high energy and fun environment in all four sessions. We thank Jake and Caleb from ‘Moving Monkeys’ for delivering these clinics. For those students who are keen to continue, please explore opportunities for gymnastics in the community.

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART

We were delighted at the number of students who supported fundraising for the Heart Foundation with our Jump Rope for Heart sessions in Term 1. We collectively raised $2,116 to support those with heart disease. Skipping is such an easy way to keep active as you only need a skipping rope or even something in your house that you could turn into a skipping rope. Alex, our leader at Jump Rope, has created a skipping challenge for you all to try.

Please stay tuned for prizes coming soon.

CROSS COUNTRY TRIALS

We would like to thank you for your flexibility on Monday afternoon with our additional cross-country trials. We also want to say a big thank you to the parents who assisted.

As you are aware, there was confusion with the age groups at House Cross Country last term. It was therefore important to have an opportunity for those who were keen and able to attend, to have their chance to gain a place at Cross Country. For students who were unable to make it, we will of course be taking into account the House Cross Country placings to ensure we have been as fair and accurate as possible. Although the trials were not compulsory, it was wonderful to have over 30 students keen to race and get their extra exercise minutes for the day. Team selections will be released soon.

SSV TRIALS

Last week Gus and Rio from Year 5/6attend the School Sport Victoria Cricket Trials. This is a highly competitive experience as high performing players come together to compete for the Victoria team. Both boys had an eye-opening experience, where they not only enjoyed the experience but showing true sportsmanship can now reflect on what they need to do to improve their performance. Today, Rio and Teddy from Year 5/6have attended the AFL trials. We await to see how they go.

SCHOOL COLOUR FUN RUN

We will finish Term Two this year on a high with the School Colour Fun Run. This is a school fundraising event and we will be releasing more information shortly. But for now, here’s a sneak peek of what’s coming.
