Northern Region Swimming Carnival

On Tuesday March 16 Rebecca Beninati, Niamh Ryan, Ella Lamanna and Odessa D'Lasselle headed off to Watermarc Aquatic Centre in Greensborough, to represent the school at the Northern Region Swimming Carnival. Rebecca competed in the individual 50m butterfly and performed very well. She then joined up with the other girls for the U11 4 x 50m freestyle relay. The quartet teamed up beautifully to put in an outstanding performance to eventually finish third. To receive a bronze medal at this level of competition is an achievement that we are all proud of. Well done girls!

Cross Country Trials

Due to the inordinate amount of rain that we had throughout last week, the cross country trials were held "in-house" last Friday. A 2000 metre course, which wound its way around the school numerous times, was designed to test the stamina and endurance of the students. It was great to see all the students out participating and pushing themselves to the very end. There were a number of really impressive performances with many really pushing their claims to be a part of the cross country team. The squad will be announced at the start of next term in preparation for the Preston District cross country which will be held at Bundoora on Wednesday May 5.
