At St Raphael's we are commited to reducing our waste and a simple way to create less waste is to NUDE your food.
Nude food is simply food without excess plastic packaging. By avoiding wrapping sandwiches in plastic wrap or purchasing multi-packs or single use items, we can reduce the waste accumulated at our school and avoid sending this waste to landfill. By preparing nude food we can also increase the amount of fresh fruit and vegetables our students eat which is important for their health, growth and development.
Preparing nude food is easy.
Our koala group Gurrborra enjoyed their time in the garden. Our reporter created this fantastic infograph to communicate all that was happening outside.
Our kangaroo group Marram joined us in the garden last week. Here is this week's report from our budding reporter and photographer.
The 'Litter Squad' are good at collecting rubbish.
'Clear It Out' are pulling out weeds and old tomatoes.
The people getting their wheelbarrow license are very close to getting it.
'Chook Chums' are looking after the chooks very well.
'Watering Squad' are watering plants.
'Super Seed People' are busy planting seeds.

This term Garden Club has enjoyed the return of some familiar faces and welcomed new members as we water, sow and harvest our wonderful school garden. Merging with Science, STEM in the Garden has provided another avenue for students to pursue their interests and we have enjoyed some wonderful conversations with our budding scientists and gardeners.
Without doubt the most popular members of Garden Club are still our four chickens Cutie, Midnight, Snow and Chicken Little who love a cuddle or being feed delicious scraps from our produce harvest.
Garden Club runs most WEDNESDAYS and THURSDAYS during the first half of lunch.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back next Term.
