Year 3/4–Celebrating Learning

3/4 Mainstream

During our applied mathematics sessions this term, grades three and four are completing a unit on mapping. This ties in with our current focus on place during our Integrated lessons. In the past two weeks we have explored the First Nations’ Languages map, excerpts from Young Dark Emu, and google maps. During our mathematics sessions students will be learning about the features of maps, creating their own maps of both real and imagined places, and learning to interpret maps from a range of sources.

3S Steiner

In Main Lesson, 3S have been learning about building and shelters. Children have researched assigned traditional shelters, produced an information text in the form of a poster and have been working hard creating models. In literacy students have been covering persuasive writing and inference.

4S Steiner

From the beginning of Term 2, 4S has been engaged in learning the lines for our annual play; The Wedding of Thor. We have also been learning how to write persuasive texts and mapping.
