Year 1/2–Celebrating Learning

1/2 Mainstream

Students have had the opportunity to participate in National Ride2School Day. Ride2School Day is a celebration of active travel, and students have engaged in learning about being safe while walking, cycling, scooting and riding. We know to

  • Wear a helmet when we are riding a bike or scooter
  • Always stay on the footpath when we are walking, cycling, scooting or riding
  • Make sure to check for cars when we are crossing the road, no matter what we are using to get around!

As part of our Integrated unit this term, we are also learning about ways that we can look after Our Globe and that we can Heal Country. Active travel is a great way to reduce pollution and do something kind for the Earth!

Steiner - Class 1

Class one students have been learning about the base ten number system through the story of ‘The Place Value Queendom’. Through this Main Lesson they have been counting and grouping numbers into tens and ones with help from their fairy friends Una, Decie and Centie.

Steiner - Class 2

Class two have been learning their times tables and related number patterns through the story of ‘Ida the Spider’.  With help from the characters Valla and Dante, students have been finding the relationship between skip counting and times tables x2 to x9. We’ve also been celebrating our local surroundings at this time of year, with Autumn craft and leaf language activities!
