Performing Arts through Drama

In Term 1 students have explored the elements of drama through physical and expressive activities. Students have been learning to move sensibly in the space and use their voice to create sounds and character voices. Performances included Reader’s Theatre, Mime, Improvisation and Animation.

Year 5 and 6 students applied their understanding of the drama elements to plan, script and perform a fractured fairy tale for students in another year level. These performances were then adapted to a podcast, where students took time to consider voice expression and sound effects.
