Welcome
Welcome to the second SRC meeting for 2021. Welcome Kylie Lewin, School Council Representative. Thank you to Jason for attending.
New Business
Prior to the SRC meetings that will be held monthly, please hold class meetings and bring ideas for discussion.
The Banyule Youth Summit returns on Tuesday, May 18 2021. It will be held at the Heidelberg Gold Club in Lower Plenty. The final session of the Summit will be live streamed online. Students from different schools will come together to discuss issues that matter to them and a series of recommendations will be taken to the Banyule Council on behalf of students. Bree, Ben and Luca will attend and represent Concord school. Further details and dates to follow.
Upper Primary Suggestions :
-Students would like a Games day. Jason and Colin spoke about the upcoming Sports Day for both Primary and Secondary students.
-Students discussed wanting all students to follow the rules. Colin suggested that when students on the SRC model best practice with following rules it will encourage others to continue to do so.
-Students would like to have a lunchtime club for bringing own devices. Unfortunately due to security issues this will not be able to happen, personal devices are safer at home.
-Students would like a Movie Making/Watching lunchtime club. This suggestion can be discussed further with Chris Norman, Section Leader
-Students would like an Afternoon Snack club. Colin said nice idea but Afternoon Snack club is run at Afterschool Care and at home.
Sec 7/8 Section Suggestions:
Secondary 7/8 students would like to thank for all of the items from last meeting that were considered.
-Students would like to have hammocks for relaxing in the Secondary 7/8 yard area. Colin said that hammocks would be best kept for home and holidays due to limited space in the yard.
-Students would like new laptop lockers, bag lockers, shade sails, new tables and chairs. Colin said that all of these items will be addressed when Jason meets with the Architects to discuss the new building phase.
-Suggested Lunchtime Clubs- Gymnastics or Dance, Meditation or Yoga, Video Games. These ideas can be discussed with Karlie, Team leader
- Students would like a Footy or Cricket Lunchtime club. We have a Volunteer coming for Induction from Eltham football Club, Colin said that he will have a discussion regarding this request.
-A Student would like more Ben 10 books. Please see Ashley in the Discovery centre ·
Sec 9/10 Section Suggestions:
Sec 9/10 students would like to thank and acknowledge Brooke and the Sec 11/12 team for the amazing Café. Also Happy Birthday to Poppy.
-Students would like a Cricket clinic offered. Colin to follow up with new Volunteer from Eltham Football club.
- Students would like a Book Club. Colin said that the Library lunchtime Club with Ashley and Di is where Book Club could be.
- A Student would like larger buttons for his shirt. Colin said discuss with your parent/carer or Kellie in the Uniform shop.

Milkshakes, Smoothies, Protein shakes, Kombucha, Ice Tea and Juices, Jam Donuts
