Principal's Report

Welcome Back

A huge welcome back to term two. The students have had a fantastic start to the term and are following our values and schoolwide expectations. It is great to see the enthusiasm of students and staff and we look forward to the exciting learning experiences that are ahead of us this term.

This is reminder that we have a pupil free day next Tuesday 4th May. On this day our staff will be involved in professional development activities.

Car Parking on Gleeson Drive

The Banyule Council had asphalted the grass adjacent to the fenceline on Gleeson Drive and created 31 new car parks. This is beneficial as it makes parking ‘official’ and means that cars will not risk being fined. It has also lead to more car spaces as there were previously large gaps between parked cars who were parking on the grass.

A reminder that, apart from the car back at the back of the school, other parking options are on Grimshaw St which is not a clearway until 3.30pm and in Gleeson St on the southern side of Loyola Reserve.

Bundoora Campus Café

Concord School is excited to announce that our Café is now operational and parents are encouraged to come and buy a coffee from 8.30-9.15am on every school day except for Wednesday when the café is closed. We would love to see you ordering coffees and freshly made treats either before or after student drop off.

Brooke Telford, our Café Manager, is overseeing the operation of the Café with the assistance of two different Secondary 11/12 students each week. These students prepare the food and coffees and accept payments. Students will achieve their Food Handling Certificate and receive barista training.

The Café section allocations for students are:

Monday – Upper Primary

Tuesday – Secondary 9/10

Thursday – Secondary11/12

Friday – Secondary 7/8

The café will be open to students from the allocated section from 10.30-10.55am and 12.15-1.00pm.

We can’t wait to serve you soon!

NDIA DET Pathways to Post-School Life Parent Webinars

The ‘Pathways to Post-School Life’ sessions are designed to help parents of students with disability in Years 10-12 in mainstream and specialist schools find out about career planning and pathways tools, NDIS-funded supports and other assistance available under the NDIS and DET.

Sessions are offered over multiple dates to allow flexibility for attendees, and will be delivered via video-conference using Microsoft Teams.

Principal Award- Tino Mashababe

Tino is a quiet achiever.  He always tries hard to complete any tasks set for him without fuss and to the best of his ability.

Tino has an infectious smile that brightens everyone’s day. He has many friends in the Concord School community and is a good friend to those around him.

Tino is looking forward to the Year 12 Presentation Ball coming up in May and was very proud to be chosen as a dance captain for rehearsals, a role which he takes very seriously.

Tino is a highly regarded member of the Year 12 cohort and is a worthy recipient of this award.
