Clontarf Foundation Bairnsdale Academy

Dylan’s Concrete Plan

Bairnsdale Year 11 Student Dylan Bryant has decided concreting as the pathway he wants to go in the future after a block of work placements with local concreter Kane Ashwood.

Kane who has a strong history of creating opportunity for local Indigenous youth approached Dylan after his work placement in the VCAL Program at the College.

Dylan showed a real interest and decided after consultation with his Aunt the he would pursue concreting as a career. Dylan said he really enjoys the work with Kane and his team at JBI Concreting and can’t wait to start.

Concreting is a two year traineeship which will be run through AGA in Bairnsdale with one day a fortnight allowed for study and the rest of the traineeship all carried out on the work sites.

Dylan has been a massive contributor to the Bairnsdale Academy over his time at the College and will be sadly missed as Dylan was a boy that embraced all things Clontarf. Dylan was a student that always made the effort to train and represent the Academy with flying colours.

Dylan will now become Clontarf Alumni and will be welcomed back anytime in the academy room and the academy will watch and support him all the way.
