Two students, Radim Sirůček and Tadeáš Dub, have decided to bring back the wonderful tradition of school hoodies. Until next week, there is an opportunity to order hoodies of eight different colours. Orders can be made through the e-shop we created. You can pick up your hoodie at school, or it can be sent to your home address. Hoodies will go into production on the last day of the orders, 19th April, so they will be ready for you in three weeks time. The whole project has been agreed by the school. Dva studenti, Radim Sirůček a Tadeáš Dub, se rozhodli oživit nádhernou tradici školních mikin. Do příštího týdne bude možné objednat si mikiny v osmi barvách. Objednávky můžete zadávat prostřednictvím e-shopu, který jsme vytvořili. Mikinu si můžete vyzvednout ve škole nebo si ji můžete nechat poslat poštou domů. Mikiny se začnou vyrábět poslední den objednávek, tedy 19. dubna, a k vyzvednutí budou připraveny tři týdny poté. Celý projekt jsme připravili se souhlasem školy.

Student-led ECAs/Kroužky vedené studenty
ECP Student Council (@studentcouncil_ecp) is launching Student Led ECAs: Chess, Debating, Movie/Theatre, Dance, Music. "The only limitation to what we can do is my and your imagination," said Dmitry Cheremisin, Y4 student, introducing the Chess Club.
Studentská rada ECP (@studentcouncil_ecp) zahajuje kroužky pro studenty: šachy, debatování, kino/divadlo, tanec, hudba. „Jediným omezením toho, co můžeme udělat, je moje a vaše představivost,“ řekl při představení šachového klubu Dmitry Cheremisin, student 4. ročníku.

Our student Karolina Flook delivered Easter goodies and decorations to the Home for the Elderly in Vysočany in order to please and cheer up the clients for the holidays.
Studentka Karolina Flook před svátky doručila do Domova Seniorů ve Vysočanech velikonoční nadílku, aby klienty na Velikonoce potěšila a rozveselila.

Make the common space a nicer space/Zkrášlení veřejného prostoru
Year 3 student Jolana Vomelová sent a contribution to our happy challenge focused on making the common space a nicer place. She found a space in front of her former primary school and drew a colourful spring image there to please the passer-bys.
Studentka 3. ročníku Jolana Vomelová nám poslala do Happy Challenges, konkrétně do kategorie Udělejte veřejné místo krásnějším. Místo, které zkrášlila, je prostor před jejíí ZŠ, kterou dříve navštěvovala. Nakreslila krásný obrazec, který těší kolemjdoucí.
One of our :more programme “happy challenges” is making holiday decorations; Karolina Flook’s produced nice Easter ornaments.
Jednou z našich “šťastných výzev” v rámci programu :more byla výroba sváteční dekorace. Karolina Flook vyrobila pěknou velikonoční výzdobu.

Mental Health Awareness Project/Projekt na podporu povědomí o duševním zdraví
We are a group of ECP students (Aneta, Bibiana, Olga, Monika and Anna) who want to speak up and spread awareness about the topic of mental health. We therefore started a mental health support initiative. Look at our instagram.
Jsme skupina studentů ECP, kteří chtějí zdůraznit a šířit povědomí o tématu duševního zdraví. Z tohoto důvodu jsme zahájili iniciativu na podporu duševního zdraví. Podívejte se na náš instagram (jsme Aneta, Bibiana, Olga, Monika a Anna).
Mentoring programme/Program mentoringu
We created a programme which is helping Year 1 students to get familiar with the school and have a person available at all times for questions about ECP life during the first few months. Students from Year 6 who have signed up for the mentoring programme each have their own Year 1 student that they were assigned to take care of. By creating these relationships between year groups we offer a more positive atmosphere in the school.
We continued with this programme also during the school closure in a virtual form. Year 1 students created thank you cards for their Year 6 mentors to show them their appreciation.
Vytvořili jsme program, který pomáhá studentům 1. ročníku seznámit se se školou a mít během prvních měsíců v ECP kdykoli k dispozici osobu v případě dotazů týkajících se života ECP. Studenti ze 6. ročníku, kteří se zaregistrovali do tohoto programu, mají každý přiděleného studenta 1. ročníku, o kterého se mají starat. Vytvářením těchto vztahů napříč ročníky posilujeme pozitivní atmosféru ve škole.
V mentoringu jsme pokračovali i během uzavření školy, a to ve virtuální podobě. Studenti 1. ročníku vytvořili děkovná přáníčka pro své mentory z 6. ročníku, aby jim vyjádřili své uznání.

I am really glad that you have been my mentors because you are kind, clever, and funny and you helped me enter the new school with joy. That's why I want to wish you good luck with IB and hope that you will do well with your university entrance exams so that you can get to the school of your choice.
I also wish you to be happy and successful in your future endeavors. I will be glad to hear from you in the future. I really like you!

GSA/Klub GSA
The Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) is proud to be nearing it’s fourth anniversary. The group is a testament to ECP’s commitment to building a strong and accepting school community. With the guidance of Ms.Baxter students hold weekly meetings to discuss the state of the world, the school, and their personal experiences with a focus on LGBTQ+ issues. In cooperation with the school the GSA has brought forth several initiatives in hopes to further improve the schools inclusivity.
During the first semester a meeting was held with Ms. Hulova, the head of PSME, to discuss the Sex Education curriculum. After looking through the lesson plans, the GSA found it to be exceptionally inclusive as it was but, like anything, still with room for improvement. In a meeting open to the whole school, the GSA met with Ms. Hulova and the student body to discuss these improvements. The proposals were met with excitement and the GSA is looking forward to seeing them put into action in years to come.
Further initiatives include a similar change in the ECP’s LGBTQ+ awareness fortnight, in which the GSA found multiple virtues and faults. The fortnight is centered around awareness rather than acceptance and cisgender heterosexuals rather than LGBTQ+ individuals. While this was considered to not necessarily be a bad thing, the GSA have resolved to reform the LGBTQ+ awareness fortnight into something more equal.
Recently the GSA has organised a podcast, discussing topics regarding the school and the wider community. ECP’s own Mr Baxter was included in the discussion in the first of these upcoming podcasts, with more guest speakers lined up. The podcast was proposed by the GSA to include and discuss LGBTQ+ issues with a wider audience and to include educated and experienced speakers to explore these issues with the GSA.
Community is one of the tenets held, and determined to be met, by the GSA. It is inclusive to all sexualites and genders, including cisgender heterosexuals. The GSA’s main goal is to unite everyone, from those who identify as LGBT and Q to cisgender heterosexuals. All members of the student body should feel welcome to join any meetings, whether it be to work on an issue they’ve noticed or just to share the community.
As stated, the GSA welcomes and encourages any and all students and staff to join any meeting. The GSA is also open to questions and will be happy to answer any that come to mind. It is grateful for the ECP’s acceptance and integration into the school and is grateful for any members or attendees to join.

Skupina Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) je hrdá na to, že se blíží ke čtvrtému výročí svého vzniku. Tento spolek je důkazem závazku ECP budovat silnou a otevřenou školní komunitu. Pod vedením paní Baxterové se studenti každý týden setkávají, aby diskutovali o stavu světa, škole a osobních zkušenostech se zaměřením na otázky LGBTQ+. Ve spolupráci se školou GSA přineslo několik iniciativ v naději na další zlepšení inkluzivity škol.
Během prvního semestru se uskutečnilo setkání s paní Hulovou, vedoucí předmětu občanská nauka, k projednání osnov sexuální výchovy. Po prozkoumání učebních plánů skupina zjistila, že jsou vysoce inkluzivní, ale jako se vším, vždy je prostor pro zlepšení. Na setkání otevřeném komukoli ze školy se spolek GSA setkal s paní Hulovou a dalšími studenty, aby projednali tato vylepšení. Návrhy se setkaly s nadšením a GSA se těší na to, až budou v následujících letech uvedeny do praxe.
Mezi další iniciativy patří podobná změna v programu pro čtrnáctidenní tématickou podporu povědomí o LGBTQ+ v ECP. GSA našlo možnosti ke zlepšení i zde. Dosud se program soustředil spíše na povědomí než na přijetí a na cisgendrové heterosexuály spíše než na jednotlivce z komunity LGBTQ+. I když to nebylo považováno za nutně špatnou věc, GSA se rozhodlo reformovat tento program s větším zaměřením na rovnost.
Nedávno skupina GSA uspořádala podcast, který pojednával o tématech týkajících se školy a širší komunity. V prvním z těchto podcastů se do diskuse zapojil také zástupce ředitele, pan Baxter, a další hosté promluví příště. Cílem podcastu bylo diskutovat otázky LGBTQ+ v širším publiku a zahrnout vzdělané a zkušené řečníky, kteří by se tématu věnovali společně s GSA.
Komunita je jedním z principů, které GSA uznává a chce plnit. Zahrnuje všechny sexuality a pohlaví, včetně cisgenderových heterosexuálů. Hlavním úkolem GSA je sjednotit všechny, od těch, kteří se identifikují jako LGBT a Q až po cisgenderové heterosexuály. Všichni studenti by se měli cítit vítáni na jakýchkoli schůzkách, ať už jde o řešení problému, kterého si všimli, nebo jen o sdílení komunity.
Jak již bylo uvedeno, GSA vítá a vybízí všechny studenty a zaměstnance, aby se zúčastnili jakékoli schůze. Skupina GSA je také otevřená otázkám a ráda zodpoví všechny, které vás napadnou. Jsme vděčni za přijetí a integraci ze strany ECP a také za všechny budoucí nové členy nebo účastníky.
