Careers

Families are key stake holders in the development of career goals and aspirations, and it was fantastic to see families and students logging on for the series of careers evenings in Term 2.

The whole school community plays a role in guiding and supporting students in their development and decisions in relation to their career pathways.

All information sessions held in Term 2 to date have all been uploaded to Compass – School Documentation – Careers Folder. If you were unable to attend these events I would encourage you to visit the presentations:

Work Experience - Year 10

Students in Year 10 should be finalising their Work Experience placements and documentation.  All paperwork should be completed and handed into the office by 7 June. Placement will be in the last week of term, 21 – 25 June .

Any student who is finding it difficult to secure a position must seek assistance from Liz Rundle in Careers Office.

Students who are unable to undertake Work Experience because they are not yet 15 years old or are unable to secure a placement will be required at school during the last week of term. During this time students will have the opportunity to do a Virtual Work Experience project and complete their Career Action plan, Resume and draft a Cover Letter.

The Year 10 Work Experience power point presentation has been uploaded to Compass – School Documentation – Careers folder.

Year 9 Career Insights program - Morrisby Profiling

My Career Insights is a program for all Year 9 students in Victorian government secondary schools.

Students will be given the opportunity to complete a series of questionnaires and quiz's accessed through the Morrisby website. They will then discuss their results with a Morrisby-trained Careers Consultant in a 30-minute interview.

My Career Insights will help students discover, develop and drive their career planning. It is a unique opportunity for students to learn more about their strengths and abilities while exploring potential career options – giving them the confidence to start taking control of their future.

Families are invited to login on 8 June  at 6.30pm to hear a detailed presentation of this fantastic opportunity.

Meeting details and login will be published on Compass at a later date.

Students are scheduled to undertake the online quiz in the last week of term and individual interviews will be carried out in the first two weeks of Term 3.
