Year 8 Humanities Coastal Excursion

Last week The Year 8 coastal excursion took students to a variety of locations along the South Eastern coast line of Greater Melbourne in order to learn how weather, human activity, and natural phenomena can alter the Australian landscape. Students found themselves in Seaford with sand dunes and a lovely beach front then Patterson River which has been altered heavily by humans. At around lunch time the students made their way to Half Moon Bay which presents a beautiful cliff face and an opportunity for everyone to sit down to some fish & chips. The trip ended in Sandringham which has seen its coast encounter some dramatic changes in the last 60 years.

It was an incredibly fun trip and despite the sometimes awful weather, the Year 8s pulled through and are well on their way to becoming Geographers themselves!
