Uniform
As the term comes to a close, I would like to bring to your attention our expectations regarding the wearing of the College uniform.
In recent weeks, we have noticed a number of our students coming to school wearing items that do not comply with the College Uniform policy. Our year level coordinators have been working with families to address these concerns, however, we would like to ensure that everyone has a clear understanding of our uniform expectations. These are listed on page 12 of the College diary and an attachment to both the policy and a graphic depicting the uniform is attached to this article.
We understand that on occasion, students may be unable to wear an item of the uniform for a variety reasons. Our process for this requires a parent/carer to write a note that is sent along with the child to school. This is presented to the coordinator at the relevant sub-school office where a “uniform pass” will be issued. A new process will now include the pass being lodged on Compass (so that classroom teachers are aware of the uniform concern), and an email to both the parent/carer and student, acknowledging the note from home. We would expect small uniform issues to be resolved in a timely manner and any longer term concerns must be raised directly with the appropriate year level coordinator.
For uniform breaches without a valid reason, students will have this lodged on Compass, an email will go to parents/cares and the student outlining our concerns. Students who do not adhere to the College uniform policy will receive College detentions issued by the sub-school team.
We appreciate your understanding in this matter, the College uniform is an important part of our identity as a school and we hope that or students take pride in wearing it.
