First Reheasals of Beginner Band and Junior Strings

Our Year 7 Beginner Band have now enjoyed their first rehearsals and are looking forward to their debut performance in Term 2.

Musical Instrument Tuition – Places Still Available

We have a very limited number of places still available on Clarinet and Trumpet. We can now offer tuition on these instruments for the remainder of 2021 at a discounted fee of $340 which includes a weekly lesson, a weekly ensemble rehearsal, and all associated excursion and activity costs.

We have hire instruments available also at a discounted cost.

If you are interested in trying out either of these instruments, talk to the Music staff and we will organise a time for you to do so. You don’t need to sign up to anything, just come to the Performing Arts Centre and have a go!

If you missed this year’s Music Information Night, a video of the presentation is now available: https://youtu.be/C0Hj0tDjuaA

Music Performance Uniform

A reminder for all of our new musicians (and those who have grown!) that all students wear the black Music Performance uniform for concerts. Although it is some time until our first performances in Term 2, we would suggest sourcing these uniform items earlier rather than later in case there are shortages in sizes.

The Music Performance uniform is detailed in the 2021 Music Handbook available from the Performing Arts Centre or via the below attachment.

Music Camp for Senior Ensembles

Music Camp information is now on Compass for students in Chamber Strings, Senior Vocal Group and Symphonic Band.

Music Camp is at Candlebark Farm in Healesville from 3-5 May. As a condition of being involved in these senior music ensembles, it is an expectation that students come to camp for the very intensive rehearsal time it provides in learning music for the year. If you have a diary conflict that makes attendance at Music Camp difficult, please let your ensemble director know as soon as possible. Classroom teachers try not to schedule SACs during this time and they can be negotiated if this occurs.

A plaque will be placed on the back of each seat you sponsor.
