Careers and Pathways - new staff member
The school is excited to introduce Rhonda Cadman into the Careers and Pathways. Rhonda has a range of experience in tertiary and private careers development. Rhonda works Mondays and Tuesdays and is located in the library.
Hello!
I’m really enjoying my first few weeks at Collingwood College and have already started to meet with students to assist with their future career decisions. I’m excited to be at the school and am looking forward to working with the school community to help students with their career education.
I aim to share a range of resources for all school year levels to help parents and students learn more about the many different career pathways and options available.
For example, National Careers Week is from 17-25th May!
Careers Week aims to celebrate careers, career development, career development services, and career development practitioners. It also promotes the economic, social and personal benefits of career development for all Australians.
There are many resources for students, staff and parents on the National Careers Week website
https://careersweek.com.au/ including information on issues like resume writing, interview skills, career choice and career changes.
Students interested in careers in law, can look at public events during law week to learn more about the range of careers in this area. (https://lawweek.net.au/)
Students from Year 9 - 12 are encouraged to make time to visit tertiary open days as a way to explore future study opportunities. Visit the specific institute websites for up to date information but before you go, this guide may help make the most of your visit. :https://myfuture.edu.au/career-articles/details/how-to-make-the-most-of-open-days-and-career-expos
Looking forward to being an active member of the school community.
