Science Exhibition Night
Congratulations everyone for a successful Science Fair. Our first event held at JMSS in over 18 months!
A big thank you to our staff, Year 10's and our Little Scientists who all worked so hard and organised a really engaging evening. Congratulations and thank you to all those who visited!
Senior Sports
Senior students participated in the Monash Division for badminton on Friday 14th March. It was a great day where there was lots of participation from all schools which attended and our students showed great sportsmanship. The Senior Girls A team consisting of Sydney Go, Darshanaa Senthilkumar, Alexa Soesanto, Thejaswini Rajasekaran and Diya Dhaliwhal won the Monash Division and will be participating in the Eastern Metropolitan Division Competition later in the year.
Well done to all the teams!
SCINEMA International Science Film Festival
Filmmaking - especially producing science short films - is an avid passion of mine, one that I have grown over the last five years. I produce films regularly for competitions and film festivals and just for my own practice as well, and I upload them all to my YouTube channel found here: https://www.youtube.com/c/TheScienceWhizz
Last year, I produced an expository video about a recent astronomical controversy titled 'Life on Venus...?' and submitted it into the SCINEMA International Science Film Festival, the largest science film festival in the southern hemisphere. SCINEMA attracts thousands of entries from around the world and showcases only a selected handful of these films at cinemas around Australia.
'Life on Venus...?' has been selected in the 2021 screenings of the SCINEMA International Science Film Festival. The video can be found at the following link: https://youtu.be/z5lTOno--QI
It will be available for public viewing when all the selected films are publicly released in August.

I am deeply thankful to the JMSS community for allowing me to continue exploring and expanding my filmmaking skills. I will be producing more films this year and will be sure to keep the community updated on those as well!
