Mental Health Week!

Mindfulness, Yoga & Tai Chi
To celebrate the beginning of term 4 staff and students participated in a number of activities designed to raise awareness about maintaining positive mental health and well-being. Activities included Mindfulness sessions, Yoga, Tai Chi on the park and making dream catchers. During daily contact tutorial classes were encouraged to also participate in activities that promote the use of relaxation techniques, exercise, listening to music or using humour to reduce stress or lift mood.
Staff and students also contributed to the week by planning and performing a short “Flash Mob” dance at lunchtime.
This was done to highlight the importance of using humour and laughter to lift mood and promote a positive vibe within the school community. To finish off the week staff raised money for the Darebin Men’s Shed by showcasing their denim style in “Double Denim for Depression Day”
