School Council President Rob Ryan, Principal Kate Morris, Captains Darcy Cornwallis, Wang Xi and Deputies Rishi Mishra, Sanda Naing joined Head of Senior School, Mr Shane Gemmola and Year Level Program Coordinators Mr Paul-Micah Sullivan and Ms Diana Corkery in hosting the evening.
Kate Morris said:
This evening we all share in the magic of Northcote High, as we recognise and honour the many achievements of our 2015 Graduating Class. Our history and traditions are very much a part of who and what we are today. A passion for life and learning, creativity and imagination are at the heart of our great School. Whilst tonight is a farewell, it is also very much a celebration of the future. Our graduates are positive young women and men who have experienced both success and challenge over their time with us, and have learnt the skills of resilience, persistence, empathy and friendship. Northcote High is a great school because we are a community of people who challenge and support one another. I wish each and every graduate the best of luck in their future endeavours and adventures.
Remembering Chris
A highlight again this year was the Manousopoulos award, recognising Academic Excellence in Languages. Established in 2012, it recognises the valuable contributions made by Mr Chris Manousopoulos to our School, as a past student and passionate teacher of History and French. This year the award went to Bridget MacArthur. Thank you to Diane and Dimitri Manousopoulos, who attended to present the award.
