Inews Update 1

Senior Music Concert - Oct 12
October 12 saw our final senior music concert for the year - and a farewell to many of our senior music students. Congratulations to all our students who performed so well, to the music staff and to our parents - and especially to the Friends of Music for support of the school's very vibrant program.
Thank you too, to our outgoing Music Captains for 2015, Flora Carbo, Albert Rex, Isabelle Piccollo-cody and Joachim Habgood.
2017 Music Tour of China
An information night has been held to outline the 2017 Music tour to China! This is our fifth touring and performing tour, a fantastic opportunity for all our musicians. It takes in Shanghai, Xian, Beijing, Tianjin and Huaibei, the home of our sister school.
Parents who missed this meeting can still get information from Mr Kelly-Cleve or Ms Brogan.
Media interest
This year we have, for the first time, introduced an online enrolment process via Compass which included an incorrectly/awkwardly worded Compass-generated message regarding a deposit to 'secure your place.' Last week this was reported by some media outlets as "a cash grab" by a popular school.
The Compass statement certainly did not represent existing school values or DET policy. And a range of support options are always available to families who are experiencing financial difficulties, as many existing NHS families would attest.
At our request, the notice regarding a payment requirement was removed by the school’s external portal provider (Compass) and parents can now complete the external online enrolment process without making a payment. The school will clarify the payment request process and support options in our next communication to new families. Importantly, many families have in recent weeks approached the school to discuss support and payment options for 2016.
As you are well aware, we are a neighbourhood school, a vibrant learning community and we are committed to meeting the needs of all our young people.
