John XXIII Rowing Club

South West Head of the River Champions

On the 25 March, the John XXIII Rowing Club travelled down to Bunbury to take part in the South West Head of the River.  Families came down Friday afternoon and enjoyed a BYO dinner and sunset on the Bunbury foreshore.

John XXIII competed against local schools Bunbury Catholic, Bunbury Grammar as well as MANEA College. With a squad of 80 rowers, John XXIII entered 55 crews into 33 events and won 22 of them!  The Club came home with two trophies, The Ronald Walter Prosser Cup for winning the Open Mixed 8+ and The Charles Hastie Cup for overall points.

A big thank you to all the coaches, parents, and committee members for making it such a successful weekend for the Club, this regatta was a great dress rehearsal for the IGSSA and All Schools regatta season in Term 2.  Well done to all the rowers, you represented the College, and your families with pride.

Rowing Wine Fundraiser

The John XXIII College Rowing Club is running a fundraiser this term in conjunction with Plantagenet Wines.

Established in 1992, the John XXIII College Rowing Club has developed many students into strong-minded, resilient, and committed individuals, with many going on to compete in state, national and international competitions. The Club is accessed by over 200 students each year, catering for rowers of all levels. We provide training and instruction by qualified coaches using the best equipment possible.

The Club is now aiming to raise funds to support the purchasing of new equipment.

We will be selling cases of the Lions Circle range at $200 per dozen. The minimum order is one dozen. Orders will need to be placed by COB Friday 7 April 2023. Orders will be delivered by 21 April 2023.

Orders are open to the whole College community and any friends of the College, so feel free to pass on the booking link.

The varietals on offer are:
