Year Three/Four News

NAPLAN and more

It is a very busy time in Year 3/4 as we approach the end of Term One.

Today Year Three students completed their first NAPLAN test. We have been so impressed with the students' willingness to give it a go and do their best. We know that this amazing attitude will continue throughout the NAPLAN process.

While the Year Three students are completing NAPLAN the Year Four students have been working hard to increase their skills as well with targeted learning activities that aim to focus on the skills that Year Four students need to learn within the curriculum.

Our Zoo Excursion is also fast approaching. Thank you to all families who have returned the permission notes and payment. We are very excited to be heading to the zoo to consolidate our learning for our Integrated Studies topic of Africa and South America. We can't wait to visit the Amazon Aviary and see African animals such as the giraffe and zebra.

Home reading is up and running as well. It is great to see so many students reading regularly throughout the week. Students have a range of home readers to choose from at school to take home as well as digital options such as Reading Eggs and Wushka. Many students also enjoy reading the books they already have at home. Nightly reading is the only homework expectation for Year 3/4 so we appreciate family's support.
