Sport Update

Term 1 has been very busy in the world of sport for Windang. Students have had lots of sporting opportunities in a range of sports and will continue to do so throughout the year!

NRL Gala Day

Last week, Windang participated in a PSSA NRL gala day with 7 different school. We entered 3 teams (a 3/4 and 5/6 boys team in Rugby League and a 5/6 Girls team in League tag). We had an excellent day with all teams playing 3 games. Check out some photos from the day!

AFL program

Windang is very lucky to be working with AFL Australia to provide our students with a specialised AFL program teaching ball skills and teamwork.  This took place on Monday 27 March and Monday 3 April and will continue into next term for our final session on April 28. Have a look at how much fun our students have been having in these sessions.

Cross Country

Our school cross country was held at Windang on Friday 31 March with all students getting into their house spirit and participating in a range of fun activities along with the big race. All students should be congratulated for their outstanding efforts on the day. Many students are progressing to the district cross country carnival which will be held on Friday May 5 at BlackButt Forest Reserve. Goodluck to all our students competing!

A special thank you to all our wonderful parents and carers who helped on the day, the P&C who provided a BBQ and the wonderful Lake Illawarra high school students who helped out on the day! Your help and support is much appreciated.

District Swimming Carnival

27 students participated in our district swimming carnival on Friday 17 February. It was a beautiful day and all students swam wonderfully. We showed excellent teamwork and sportsmanship by cheering on our peers. Check out the photos from the day!

A special congratulations to Beckham Lulia for making it to Regional Swimming carnival then coming 3rd in 11 year boys 50m Breaststroke and making it to NSW PSSA State Swimming on 5-6 April. Best of Luck Beckham! We are all so proud of you.

We are very excited for all of the upcoming sporting opportunities at Windang.
