Dr Cranky & Ride to School Day

Dr Cranky coming to our school Thursday 23rd & 30th March, 8:30am and 3:30pm

Stonnington Council is sponsoring a service called Dr. Cranky’s at Armadale Primary School to encourage more students to ride bikes.

Dr. Cranky’s is an organisation that -

  • Recycles bikes to provide to primary school students who don’t have one for no charge.
  • Provides helmets and locks to students who don’t have them for no charge.
  • Does safety checks and quick repairs on student’s bikes.
  • Teaches students to pump their tyres and learn how to do minor repairs, as a way to empower kids to be more independent.

So, bring in your bike to have it checked out by Dr Cranky, or bring in the bikes that have been sitting in the shed that need repairs. If major repairs are required, Dr Cranky can take the bikes away for repair, then return them the next week.

Parent volunteers

We would love parents/carers to assist Dr Cranky on the days when they are coming in- bike maintenance knowledge helpful but not necessary.
