Angophora's 100th Birthday

At Beaumaris Secondary College we love our Liquid Amber so much we designed Stage 2 around it. But its not quite as old as one of our neighbours trees. The current residents of 15-25 Cheltenham Road, Black Rock, are planning to celebrate the 100th birthday of their Angophora Costata tree and are seeking to contact people who have had a connection with Semco Art Needlework Pty Ltd, the company that was located in Cheltenham Road during the 1900s.

The tree was planted in 1923 by a director of Semco, C. C. Buckley in 1923, and the current residents are keen to hear from, and extend an invitation to, anyone who had a connection to the Semco factory and park. Of particular interest are any stories that people can share about their experiences of the tree/land/factory & business.

All are welcome to join the celebration on 30 April 2023, from 11am to midday. Contact Kumari Pease 0428931901
