Careers & Pathways Update

Are you able to host a Work Experience student?

We have students keen to gain insight into a variety of careers; in particular, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Plumbing, Electrical, Animal Health and Marine Science.

If you (or someone you know!) are interested in hosting a Year 10 student for one week in June (19 – 23), please contact our Careers Adviser andy.farrow@education.vic.gov.au.

Work Experience provides students with the valuable opportunity to:

  • develop employability skills
  • explore possible career options
  • understand employer expectations, and
  • increase their self-understanding, maturity, independence and self-confidence.

Current Work Experience opportunities are also regularly posted for Year 10 students in OneNote in the Careers Channel, for example; Phillip Island Nature Parks Secondary School Work Experience - Study Work Grow  or 'a day In Her Boots (see below).

Students seeking Work Experience support are encouraged to attend Work Experience Club on Wednesdays lunchtime in the Careers Space.
