Student Ambassadors

Over the last few weeks, I have now had the pleasure to meet with R-2 and 3-6 Student Ambassadors.

R-2 Ambassadors brainstormed what they would like to focus on next term. The majority of Student Ambassadors wanted to make our school cleaner and see less rubbish in the yard. I will be working with them next term to support them in achieving their goals.

3-6 Student Ambassadors had a chance to have a 'meet and greet' during the first meeting and their first task was to create posters to advertise 'the showdown' doughnuts and guernsey day posters for Friday week 9. Next term we will begin to develop specific areas for the Ambassadors to focus on.

Recess Time Activities

Every Tuesday and Thursday our Pastoral Care Worker Amena runs recess time activities for early years students. Amena organises structured play on the deck area adjacent to the early year’s playground.

For example, there are opportunities for students to engage in play involving puppets, building blocks, and other varieties of toys.

Starting in term 2, Amena will still organise structured play on Tuesdays for the early years students and on Thursdays at recess time, she will run an Art Club for students in years 3-6.

Autism Month

April is Autism Month. Autism SA explains that Autism Month is about raising awareness, acceptance and inclusion surrounding autism.

According to Autism SA, more than 205,000 Australians are autistic and 1 in 4 Australians have a family member on the autism spectrum.

Lastly, please find an insightful article linked from Autism Spectrum Australia titled Celebrating World Autism Understanding Day.
