Week 10 Update

It has been a wonderful start to 2023 and the end of Term 1 is quickly approaching. The implementation of our Aiming High @ LNPS initiative has seen our whole school community engage in our school values and learner qualities.

School Values

This term has seen a focus on building students' surface-level understanding of our school values and specifically Respect.  This includes the students being able to:

  • Name the value
  • Describe the school's values
  • Identify the value in self, others or imaginary characters
  • List examples of what values  look, sound and feel like

Leadership has been visiting classes over the past few weeks to see the intentional teaching of  'Respect' and it has been evident that most of our students have a surface-level understanding.  It has been great to see this learning in action and we are looking forward to further teaching and learning focussed on the values next term.

Learning Conferences

Thank you to the families who have taken the time to provide feedback regarding the Semester 1 Learning Conferences. A final opportunity to provide feedback has been emailed to families. Surveys close this Thursday.  Our success criteria for conferences was to:

  • Supporting the building of surface-level understandings of our leaner qualities for students and families
  • Supporting families to know more about what their child should know and be able to do in relation to identified Learner Quality, English and Mathematics
  • Sharing of learning at home and knowledge about their child
  • Discussion of strategies on how to support their child at home with goals

Feedback received so far has been extremely positive and any recommended 'tweaks' will be considered for Semester 2 conferences.

We hope to see many families there!
