Specialist Feature News: Visual Arts

Selamat Siang Semuanya,

We have been exploring a range of mediums in Visual Arts this Term. One of the most exciting mediums we have been using is PUFFY PAINT! Students have been using puffy paint to decorate and up-level their art pieces from our drip arts, to our Patterned landscapes and even our warm and cool inspired artworks. We have loved seeing our paint puff up when adding heat and are so excited for you to see our artwork!  Other than puffy paint, we also used recycled paper, buttons, cardboard and modelling clay in our projects.

The Foundation students have also been showcasing their paint skills and art room routines. This week we practised correctly putting on our art smocks before any painting!  We discussed the importance of art smocks and keeping our work area neat and dry. We have been adding watercolour paint carefully to our pattern and line artwork, which we will be folding into a lantern in our next art session!

In the Kitchen Garden Program, we have been enjoying cooking and harvesting fresh ingredients such as veggies and herbs, from our beautiful school garden. Just a reminder for any parent/carers that would like to volunteer as part of our Kitchen and Garden Program - this runs on Monday and Friday at MPRPS for the Senior School. Next Term, the Junior School will be participating in the Kitchen Garden Program. Please contact the office or Bu Mundy and Yana Gill on Sentral if you are interested in volunteering.

We hope you have a fantastic week,

Terima Kasih

The Specialist Team,
