Red Hill Show

Rachel Burnett - Farm Assistant

Several students went to the 95th Red Hill Show and competed in the Young Parader's Competition. Young Parader's is an alpaca/rural skills building program with workshops, training camps, and show competition events that showcase alpaca activities, designed specifically and exclusively for young people between seven and 26 years of age.

The DCC students didn’t just compete but also interacted with the public and educated them on all things alpaca.

They did a great job, here are the results:

Tilly Perry – Open Intermediate Champion

Jayde Lee – Open Junior Reserve Champion

Abigail Mattar – Preliminary Intermediate Reserve Champion

Special mentions also for Carmi Somers, Kate Northfield, Adam Fan and Trinity Ang who prepared the College chickens beautifully for the Poultry Exhibitors.

Well done on your 1st and 2nd prize with the Silkies and 2nd and 3rd placings with the Australorps.

Congratulations to all who competed - our next event is this Saturday, 25 March, at the Whittlesea Poultry Night. We hope to see you there.
