College Board Update

A Letter from Matt Moran - Board Communications Secretary

As a Board, we are so thankful for our role in leading Donvale Christian College toward a Godly and hopeful future. We are acutely aware of the challenges and uncertainties that confront us, yet we remain steadfast in our faith and commitment to guide the school to be a light for Jesus in the community.

In our most recent Board meeting, Chair Tony Sinn led us in a thought-provoking devotion based on Philippians 2, highlighting the importance of Christ-like humility and our role and responsibility in seeking a sense of Shalom amongst all members of the school.

It is our fervent hope that, as one community, we can come together and seek God's guidance as we move forward.

We warmly invite you therefore to join us at our upcoming Annual General Meeting on Thursday 18 May, where we prayerfully deliberate and make important decisions about the future direction of the school.

Such decisions at the AGM are voted on by members of the Association - the same Association which dreamed, prayed and founded this school nearly 50 years ago. If you, as a parent of a child - or children - at Donvale are interested in becoming an Association member, so helping to maintain our precious heritage of Christian education, then I encourage you to contact Karen Read through the school’s main reception number (9844 2471), or by email karen.read@donvale.vic.edu.au

The College Board is elected from members of the Association. It consists of parents who share a deep passion and commitment for the growth and flourishing of Donvale Christian College.

Perhaps you are considering whether your contribution to the life of the school could include being nominated for election to the Board. If so.  we invite you to attend an informal evening on 29 March (next Wednesday) where you will be able to connect with current Board members and gain insights into what it means to be part of the Board and its governance responsibility within our school.

We acknowledge that the path ahead will include both challenges and opportunities, but we are excited to embrace them with hope and resolve in the name of Jesus Christ. We fervently pray that the mind of Christ will guide us as we pursue a future that is full of His promise and purpose.

We ask for your prayers, look forward to your presence and partnership in this exciting journey we have ahead of us as an Association and Board.

Warm regards in Christ,

Matt
