March-April 2023
There will be a number of staffing changes for us in Term 2.
We will be welcoming Annette Patinyot, our new Business Manager. Annette will be based at Richmond, and her role will concentrate on Finance and HR.
Patrick Feeney will be leaving LHCS at the end of Term 1. We thank Patrick for his contribution at Richmond this year.
The arrival of a Business Manager will enable Sharyn Attard to more fully embrace her work as Facilities Manager. Mara Weyers will continue working at Richmond for the beginning weeks of Term 2 only. Thank you, Mara, for holding the fort through the year so far, it has been much appreciated by all!
From the beginning of Term 2, Rick Frost will be employed full-time as a classroom and Home Group teacher for our Richmond Junior group. Heather Bates will continue her work with the group for 2-3 weeks into Term 2 to enable a handover. Thank you, Heather, for giving the group a stable start to the year.
Kal Stavropoulos (English) and Norman Dinnematin (Maths/Science) will be joining the team at Richmond as classroom teachers.
Lou Mastroianni will be taking leave for a large portion of Term 2. We expect to appoint a replacement VET Furniture teacher, and I will keep you all updated on this.
As we reflect on a busy Term 1, I want to take the opportunity to remind our community of our approach to working with and supporting young people. A core document that outlines our approach is the 'Student Basics'. A copy of this document is show below. Parents/carers of current students can support the school and their young person by talking to them about these 'basics', their importance, and the way in which these expectations are designed to support a young person's positive engagement with school and overall development as a young learner.
I am delighted to welcome our newly elected school council for 2023. Thanks especially to Kelly, who has taken on the responsibility of school council president. There will be a public meeting in May to present our 2022 Annual Report.
Parent Representatives:
Kelly Spiteri (president), Rochelle Barnett, Amanda Curtis, Tania Rose, Jacqui Castillo

Please remember that our daily supervision of students begins at 8:30am at both Richmond and Coburg. This is to ensure that school spaces can be adequately staffed and safely supervised as per Child Safe Standards. At the end of the school day supervision will be provided until 3:30pm.
I would like to thank students, families, and our school staff for their contributions to our community over the past term. It has been a busy term and I appreciate the hard work of our staff, the positive contributions of our students, and the dedication of and collaboration with parents/carers. I look forward to continuing to work with each of you in Term 2 and I hope that you all have a restful and enjoyable term break.
