Acting Principal's Report

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people.

May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.

Curriculum Day

Our students will not be required at school on Friday, as staff will be engaging in learning that will support them in their roles that are directly related to student learning outcomes. The focus for our staff will be focusing on instructional practises and investigating student learning data. OSHC is available to support families if required.

NAPLAN

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) for Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 students are held each year. In 2023, the NAPLAN test window is between Wednesday 15 March and Monday 27 March. NAPLAN tests assess student knowledge and skills in writing, reading, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy. The results of the tests provide information for students, parents, teachers and principals and can be used to improve student achievement.

You can support you child being ready for NAPLAN by ensuring that you have read all communication provided to parents, particularly in relation to be device ready.

Thankyou.

Year 1/2 Playground

We are all very excitedly watching the construction of our new playground next to the Millie Building. Groundwork has impacted the completion timeline, but we are very much looking forward to offer another play experience for our children.

Assembly

Our whole school assembly will take place this Thursday afternoon at 2:45 pm. We hope to see lots of our families in the Gymnasium at this time.

Enjoy the long weekend,

Kylie Nissen
