Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers
It is wonderful to have all our students back on site. The corridors, classrooms and playgrounds were very empty without them. We thank all of our families for the effort they put into supporting their child/ren during the remote learning period.
It has already been a busy term with Book Week celebrations, Footy Colours Day, our first Prep parent information session and International Teacher's Day. With the easing of some restrictions, we are now working through the logistics of having our Prep 2021 students visit the school and graduation celebrations for our grade 6 students. These programs will be significantly different from what we have previously experienced.
Whilst we are seeing very low numbers of coronavirus cases across Victoria, the school community must remain vigilant and continue to engage in COVID safe behaviours in and around the school. At this stage, we will be continuing staggered start and arrival of our students to minimise the congregation of adults, staggered recess and lunchtimes to reduce the mixing of cohorts and utilising outdoor space as often as possible. It still remains integral to the safety of our students and staff that any symptomatic students, regardless of how mild, remain at home. We need your continued cooperation to ensure our school community remains COVID free.
PLANNING FOR 2021
To assist with our planning for 2021 can you please notify your classroom teacher or email Megan (megan.smith@education.vic.gov.au) if your child/ren will not be attending CHPS next year. Information about class composition for 2021 will be communicated to families over the next few weeks.
In what has been a tumultuous year, it seems there is light at the end of the tunnel with the easing of restrictions. We can only hope that the AFL grand final is back at the 'G' in 2021 so that we can all watch the Tigers play for a 3peat!!
Kind regards,
Megan
