Year 12 Celebration Week

2020 Graduating Class

In what has been a very strange and stressful Year for our Year 12 cohort, this week had some glimpses of normality as the traditional rites of passage and Year 12 celebrations for the end of their schooling took place. On Monday 26th October students dressed up as their favourite characters, we saw movie characters, elves from video games, rappers with their pose and various other random characters.

Tuesday 27th October was Career Day and students showed everyone their future aspirations. We had plenty of police officers, nurses, doctors, professional athletes and even a juice bottle! It’s safe to say that future will be in great hands with the diversity of career pathways shown by our students!

Today, 30th October, the students took the opportunity to make some modifications to their uniforms  and get them signed by their peers and staff to commemorate their time at the college.

The final Year 12 assembly was slightly different this year, streamed to the school via Webex to ensure COVID safe practices.  It still had the regular traditions such as Captains' addresses, student awards and the End of Year Video . The video definitely highlighted how much these students have grown from young energetic children and matured into fine young adults ready to tackle the next stage of life head on.

The vibe across the school this week has certainly been very positive  as we celebrate the end of our year 12s time at Greensborough College. It has been a pleasant change from what has been a challenging year for everyone.

We would like to congratulate all students on the way they have conducted themselves during this time and throughout the year. We wish them all the very best for their upcoming exams and for their futures.
