Invitations are Now Open to join the Parent’s Association 2021

Due to the challenging situation we have experienced this year, we have had to cancel or postpone almost all of our events since Term 2. We are not going to have our PA Annual General Meeting, instead we will post a report in the Rocket Newsletter in November. Also, there will not be any further meet-ups this year, and therefore we need your support for our 2021 planning.

 

As a voluntary-based association we are governed by The Department of Education and Training, run by a committee (Office Bearers and Registered Members) who are parents and carers of our school, just like you. 

 

Our aim is to build a positive community and school spirit, support the Principal and School Council and represent the voice of parents and the local community by facilitating communication between parents, friends and the school. Here is the Book of Achievements 2019. 

 

I would encourage you to consider sharing your skills and experience and support the PA to achieve our school's mission “Together Towards Tomorrow”. With committee members leaving Syndal South at the end of this year, it is important for you to consider joining us. In order to run legally and effectively, we need a minimum of 6 parents to join the committee as Registered Members and 3 Office Bearers. By becoming a Committee Member, you have a key role to: 

  • vote for decision-making
  • elect and nominate Office Bearers
  • represent the PA School Council

We have a maximum of 10 meet-ups a year and may involve other times only if you volunteer in events or projects. We also provide an induction throughout the year for PA members on their roles and responsibilities. I understand that we are all busy parents and that’s why many volunteers and hands make light work for all of us.
