The girls played very well and represented their home city with pride over 4 days of competition. They finished up 2nd in their finals pool, which gave them a ranking of 10th overall for their age group in the Challenge Cup.

William was able to take advantage of the unique learning environment at QUT and had an opportunity to explore future study and career options inside the university’s world-class facilities.

Summer-Rose Phair (Year 7)

During the holidays, Miss Lo Grande coached the Under 12 Girls North Queensland Tropical Cyclones Touch Football team at the National Youth Championships on the Sunshine Coast. This team consisted of players from Cairns through to Mackay, and included our very own Summer-Rose Phair. The team finished in the Top 2, playing a tough grand final against Central Queensland Bulls. It was a great event and a very successful tour for Miss Lo Grande, Summer and the team.

Summer is also a member of our Touch Football Academy. This Academy is led by Miss Lo Grande and is where students have the opportunity to develop their skills and represent the College as well as their Region at various events throughout the year! If this is something you’d like to be a part of next year, please keep an eye out for sign up dates and trials early next year!
